Welcome to Registration: 2026–2027 School Year

Greetings, future Melrose families! We are thrilled to welcome your child to our classrooms this fall. To ensure a smooth transition, we have modernized our enrollment process through a new, improved online registration portal. Please review the presentation slides and instructional videos below. These resources are designed to help you navigate the process and prepare the necessary documentation for a successful upload.

Keep in mind your child MUST be 5 years old by 9/1/2026 & a resident of Melrose.

To make enrollment as easy as possible, please follow these steps in order:

• Step 1: Review Materials – Watch the informational videos and view the slides. This ensures you have all required data and documents ready before you begin.

• Step 2: Access the Aspen Portal –

  • New Families: If you are new to Melrose Public Schools, please create an Aspen Account using these directions. The district has recently activated ASPEN GO to improve the user experience. It is not necessary to use the family portal, but it is suggested if using Aspen on a mobile device. More information can be found here.

  • Existing Families: If you are a current MPS Family with an Aspen Account. The district has recently activated ASPEN GO to improve the user experience. It is not necessary to use the family portal, but it is suggested if using Aspen on a mobile device. More information can be found here.

• Step 3: Follow the Tutorial – Use our "How-to" video as a guide while entering your student's information.

• Step 4: Upload Documents – Scan and upload all required residency and medical documents directly into the portal.

  We cannot accept heif or heimc files at this time, If you have live photos on your iphone, please change to jpeg or pnp or pdf file format.

• Step 5: Confirm Submission – After submitting, you will receive an automated email acknowledging that your application has been received.

• Step 6: Document Verification – Our registrar's office will review your files.

  • If documents are illegible, expired, or missing, your application will be returned for corrections.

  • If all documents are approved, you will receive a "Pre-Enrollment Confirmation" email.

• Step 7: School Placement – In late May, you will receive an official letter notifying you of your child’s elementary school placement.
