Join Us for An Introductory Ride
If you live in Malden, Medford, Melrose, Stoneham, Somerville, Winchester or
Woburn, and want to learn about the Cyclopaths, your local youth Mountain Biking
team, join us for a fall introductory ride!
When: Sunday October 20th at 10:00 AM to ~ 12:00 PM
Where: Middlesex Fells: Greenwood Park, 176 Pond St, Stoneham, MA 02180
Who: Anyone between the ages of 12 -18 who wants to learn more about mountain
biking.
How: Sign this form so we know you are coming, complete the waiver we will send and
meet us on the 20th
Interested but can’t make the date: Fill out the form and we will inform you of
upcoming events.

About Us: The Cyclopaths are your local
youth mountain biking team. Beginning in the
spring we have practices each week in the
Middlesex Fells . We have certified coaches and
encourage riders of any ability to join us. The
focus of the team is fun, safety, and skill
development. We are part of New England Youth
Cycling which is an interscholastic cycling league
that enables New England teens to strengthen
body, mind, can character through the sport of
cycling.

Friday, October 4th is an EARLY RELEASE for MVMMS students. The school day includes a lunch block from 12:20 - 12:41pm. Academic day ends at 12:20pm. Lunch options: students can have lunch in the cafe, students can get a lunch from the cafe to go, or students can leave campus and have lunch elsewhere. Bus for Boston residents leaves at 12:51pm. The MVMMS Learning Commons is open for students until 2:41pm.
Back to School Night is tomorrow Thursday, September 28th, 6:00 - 8:00pm. We will start the evening in the Auditorium with a brief presentation from the MVMMS Administration. We are looking forward to having MVMMS parents and caregivers in the school!

School picture day is back! O'Connor Studios will be returning on October 29th for students who were absent on portrait day, or for those who need their portrait package retaken.
If you'd like to order portraits, please use your original order form, or pick up a new form from the office.
If you are having your portrait retaken, return your original package to the photographer on retake day. No order form is necessary. Please note that retakes are only offered for students who paid for a portrait package, or who were absent the first day.
Reminder, tomorrow Tuesday, September 10th is Fall Picture Day!
Melrose Band Fundraiser

Hello Melrose Families,
We will open Aspen's family portal today at 3:30 p.m. Once that occurs, you will need to log in to view your child’s academic and course information for this school year, including teacher assignments at the elementary and preschool levels.
The Family tab shows the students connected to your Aspen account. The Academics tab allows you to view your child’s courses and schedule. For elementary students, this will include your student’s homeroom teacher and any specialist teachers assigned to work with your child’s class. For Middle and High school, this includes the block-by-block rotation schedule. Please note: The Middle School is getting close to publishing schedules and will communicate more with the families this week with an update.

Any questions about scheduling or teacher assignments should be directed to your building principal.

The last day of school Friday, June 14th is a Noon Dismissal.
MVMMS Summer Reading lists are now available for students entering 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Students and families can find the lists and much more on the MVMMS Summer Reading Website. Go to MVMMS Library (here on the MVMMS website) and click on the link provided at the top of the MVMMS Library page. We hope you will take time to explore the Summer Reading Website, and happy summer reading, everyone!
Reminder: Wednesday, June 5th will be a full day of school. Early Release is for grades K-5 only. MVMMS will not have an Early Release.
Wishing you a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend. We will see students back in school Tuesday, May 28th (No school Monday, May 27th).
8th Grade students have MCAS, Science tomorrow May 22nd and Thursday May 23rd. Please remember to get a good night's sleep, a healthy breakfast, and come to school with a fully charged Chromebook.
All MVMMS 8th Grade Students are invited to the 8th Grade Semi on Thursday, June 13th, 6:30-9:00 p.m. in the MVMMS Cafeteria. Dinner is included. While this event does come at a small cost, we do not want cost to be a barrier for any family. We are able offer financial assistance for families that may need it, please do not hesitate to reach out. If your student will not be attending, if you need financial assistance, or are able to donate to the cost of another student please email Ms. Sewyck at msewyck@melroseschools.com.
MCAS Math for all students will be held on Tuesday, May 7th and Wednesday, May 8th. It is important for every student to come to school with a fully charged Chromebook.
