SCHOOL POLICIES

Medication: contact me for forms/procedures first. Do NOT send medication in a back-pack.

Hand sanitizer: we wash hands with soap and water very often as primary hand hygiene. At times hand sanitizer is used with staff supervision. If you wish to opt out of this please email me.

Nut free procedures at Franklin: We are a completely peanut-free/nut-free learning environment. This is critical in protecting children with life-threatening food allergies.

  • We ask that you do not send to school: peanuts, nuts/products, food items labeled "may contain nuts", or labeled "manufactured in a facility that makes products with nuts". Please check ingredient lists daily. Packaging can change at any time.

  • Do not send food or sweets into school for celebrations. This is to protect children with  food allergies and to comply with the MPS Wellness Policy (to minimize sweets)

Toileting

Staying well/staying in school:

  • Send a refillable water bottle and a snack to school daily.

  • Breakfast and fluids are fuel and can prevent symptoms of headache and fatigue

  • Adhere to your child's asthma action plan/stay in touch with your health-care provider for best control of symptoms. Asthma symptoms can be similar to those of COVID-19.

  • Manage your child's allergies as your health care provider advises, when they begin.

Physicals and immunization records: please stay up to date with your child's immunization schedule by visiting your health care provider yearly. Please provide a copy of any updated physicals or immunization records to keep your child's school health record current.

Thank you as we partner together to keep our children safe and healthy.

Best,
