School Leadership

Welcome to Horace Mann!  My name is Stephen Goodwin and I am the Principal of the Horace Mann School.  This fall marks the beginning of my 28th year working in public education.  I first was a special educator for nine years within the LABBB (Lexington, Arlington, Burlington, Bedford and Belmont) Collaborative.  For the next thirteen years, I served as a Principal within the Carlisle Public Schools, Winchester Public Schools and Wellesley Public Schools.  Most recently, I spent the past five years as a Special Education Program Coordinator for the LABBB Collaborative overseeing various programs at the middle and high school level.  Prior to teaching, I graduated from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine with a major in History.  Along the way, I completed two Masters degrees, one in Intensive Special Education and the other in Educational Leadership.  In addition, I completed a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College.  On behalf of the Horace Mann staff, we welcome you to our school community.
