How can I participate in School Committee meetings?

Anyone is welcome to attend school committee meetings, which are held generally on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 7pm in the Aldermanic Chamber at Melrose City Hall. All Melrose School Committee meetings are public meetings and any member of the public may attend.

There is an opportunity for the public to speak during the regular School Committee meetings. It is usually help at 7 pm, although under some circumstances it has been moved to other times. Public Comment is always listed on the meeting agenda when it will be a part of the meeting, and an estimated time will be shown.

There is a summary of the expectations around public comment during our meetings are for example:
Each person may speak for 5 minutes about any topic.
The committee can ask clarifying questions if they don’t understand, but they usually do not.
There is no discussion during this period.
