The Melrose Public Schools invites families of students entering Kindergarten in the 2023-2024 school year to participate in the following events:

Upcoming Events
February 14 - February 28, 2023
Online Pre-Registration - all families must complete an online pre-registration during this time.
March 1 – March 31, 2023
In Person Registration (by appointment) You will be asked to schedule an in person appointment
after you've completed the online pre-registration paperwork.
April & May 2023 (Thursdays 3:00-6:00)
Kindergarten Screening (by appointment) This will be scheduled during your in person appointment.
August 15, 2023
Families notified of K school/teacher placement no later than Aug 15th.
August 22, 2023
Kindergarten Orientation, 6:30-7:30 PM, at assigned school
August 23, 2023
Mayor’s Kindergarten Welcome Event, 6-7:00 PM at Fred Green Field
August 29, 2023
Meet Your Teacher Day, 1:50-2:20 PM, at individual schools
For incoming Kindergarten & newly registered MPS elementary students only

Requirements for Kindergarten:
- Must be 5 years of age by September 1, 2023.
- Must be a resident of Melrose.
- Parent must attend an in-person registration session to provide documents.
