The Superintendent keeps on file in the administrative building all reports, papers, and documents relating to the business of the Melrose School Committee or belonging to the Committee. All materials used in the course of all public Melrose School Committee meetings will be posted on the Melrose School Committee website in a timely manner, including Executive Session documents as soon as the need for confidentiality has passed with the exception of those which qualify for continued exemption under the Open Meeting Law statutes.
It is important to note the following:
- Materials/records used in all public Melrose School Committee meetings will be available online for two (2) full years
- These materials/records older than two (2) years will be archived and stored on media to be kept at the Superintendent’s Office
- Requests for records used in all public Melrose School Committee meetings will be satisfied by providing said records on CD’s and providing the requestor with all information in an electronic format
- A fee of $5.00 per CD will be charged to the requestor, made payable to Melrose Public Schools.
This balanced approach will keep the most relevant and in-demand information available on-line, make the archived information reasonably easy to access in an electronic format and preserve our network storage for educational and district use.
