Introduction

The Education Programs and Personnel Sub-Committee is responsible for overseeing the curriculum, instruction and staffing of the Melrose Public Schools. We review educational initiatives through the efforts of district-designated task forces and review educational programs and practices designed to effectively and efficiently frame the district's mission.

We support the development of our educators and we monitor local, state and federal assessments of student performance as one tool to measure educational progress. Accountability reports from overseers in specialty areas allow for another evaluation tool. At the end of the year, we coordinate the Superintendent's annual performance evaluation and subsequently coordinate the setting of his/her goals for the following year.

For information on when topics are reviewed and voted (if necessary), please reference the Melrose School Committee Calendar Overview on the main page.

NOTE: Documents from previous years can be found in the School Committee Archives.
