The review and oversight of educational programs and practices encompasses a variety of areas that are monitored by the Committee and include, but are not limited to:
- Training for Site Councils: Provide and encourage resources for school council professional development programs that will enable council members to have the knowledge and skills required to provide effective educational leadership.
- Pre-School, Kindergarten and First Grade Registration: Monitor the enrollment and placement process as consistent with district policy.
- School Calendar: Set the school calendar based on input from the Superintendent with attention to state requirements (like the number of educational hours), professional development for staff members, contingency planning (for things like poor weather) and holidays and observances.
- Summer Enrichment (Tiny Tots, Elementary and Middle School) and Summer School: Monitor the enrollment, programming and outcomes of district summer activities.
