The Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle Scratch Club is computer programming club that meets every Wednesday in the Computer Lab at the Victoria McLaughlin Library. Scratch is a new programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art -- and share your creations on the web. Scratch is designed to help young students develop 21st century learning skills. As Scratch projects are created, young people learn important mathematical and computational ideas, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the process of design. Visit the Scratch Club in the library each Wednesday afternoon. Developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Scratch program is free! For more information, contact Mrs. Arnold at warnold@melrose.mec.edu.
The Scratch project is based upon research supported by the National Science Foundation. Posted by Principal Brow - 10/22/08
