Dr. Larry Kepple and Principal Brow are offering a Middle School Memory Strategies Course for students entering the sixth grade in September 2009. The three-day course will be held at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School on Wednesday-Friday, June 24-26, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. The purpose of this course is to teach an amazing memory strategy to new sixth grade students. The students will learn the peg memory system, which in turn will allow them to recall lists of information rapidly and accurately. Three short videos will be shown depicting how this system has worked with students and teachers on our campus. There is a donation of $20.00 (cash or check payable to: Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School) which will help to pay for new student response systems - the "clickers" to be used by sixth grade students in September 2009. For more information, contact Dr. Larry Kepple, MHS Latin teacher, at lkepple@melrose.mec.edu or Principal Brow at tbrow@melrose.mec.edu. We hope to see you there!
