Ms. Lauryn Verderosa, MathCounts Program Coordinator, has announced that the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School MathCounts Team has reached Gold Level Status!  MathCounts has received the MVMMS students' Ultimate Math Challenges (UMC) and they have been scored.  At least twelve members of the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School MathCounts Team each scored 80% or better on the UMC.  This is an extremely commendable accomplishment.  

MathCounts will be updating their website to include Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School on the Gold Level Schools list.  Additionally, Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School will be receiving a banner to recognize its achievement and certificates to recognize students' achievement.  Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School will also be entered into the drawing for $500 gift cards adn the grand prize of a trip to Washington D.C. to witness the Raytheon 2011 MathCounts National Competition.  Congratulations to the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School MathCounts Team on this fantastic achievement.  For more information contact the MVMMS MathCounts coaches: Ms. Pereira at lpereira@melrose.mec.edu or Mrs. Folwer at dfowler@melrose.mec.edu.
