The Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School PTO is sponsoring three separate Domino Physics Workshops for all eighth grade students.  Team 8A will attend the Domino Physics Workshop on Monday, June 8, 2009 in the gymnasium from 8:36 a.m. - 2:03 p.m.  Team 8B will attend the Domino Physics Workshop on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in the gymnasium from 8:36 a.m. - 2:03 p.m.  Team 8C will attend the Domino Physics Workshop on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in the gymnasium from 8:36 a.m. - 2:03 p.m.  Each team will be divided into independent groups of eight-ten students who will problem-solve, design, create, and build their complex part of a gigantic domino maze that includes all sorts of creative engineering feats.  The students will create larger and more complex chain reactions.  The students will explore the underlying math, science, and sociological concepts. 

One multi-thousand domino mega-chain reaction will eventual occur. The Domino Physics Workshops is being funded by both the MVMMS PTO Enrichment as well as the Verizon Math and Science Enrichment grant.  For more information about the Domino Physics workshop, contact Mrs. Ellen Shore, MVMMS PTO Enrichment Representative, at ellen.shore@verizon.net.
