Melrose High School welcomed 936 students and 113 staff members for the 2008-2009 school year. The highlights of this year's opening included the inaugural Freshmen Orientation and Smart board Technology for all classrooms at MHS. On September 3, seventy-five upperclassmen welcomed 246 freshmen to Melrose High School.  The day was planned and organized by students and gave the incoming 9th grade students an opportunity for a smooth and comfortable transition to the high school. The day included a barbecue lunch and an activity fair where over forty MHS clubs and organizations were represented.

On the 1st day of school, students and staff were pleased to see Smart Boards in all classrooms.  We would like to thank Mayor Dolan, the Board of Selectman, and the entire Melrose Community for their commitment to education. Our students and teachers are the beneficiaries of the new technology.
