**Congratulations go to Eli Kaynor who has just won the prestigious Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition and will be presented in a debut appearance with this professional orchestra performing the Haydn C Major concerto on the November 30 subscription concert at Sanders Theater in Cambridge.

**Laura I. and Joe L. have been selected by their classmates to participate on the State Student Advisory Council.   They will be working with students from across the state on issues that affect all high school students, and this group has a voice on the State Board of Education.

**Congratulations to the 55 John and Abigail Adams Scholarship Winners and the 69 Stanley Koplik Certificate of Mastery with Distinction Candidates from the MHS Class of 2009! AP Scholars are recognized as students who completed three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher.  The Advanced Placement Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to possibly earn college credit at participating colleges.  MelroseHigh School currently offers the Advanced Placement option in 13 subjects.
