**Thank you to Lawrence Richards, Amanda Medieros, Bridget Krane, Krista Falles, and Melissa Bruton who helped to serve dinner to 138 homeless guests at My Brother's Table on Sunday.

**Congratulations go to Eli Kaynor who has just won the prestigious Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition and will be presented in a debut appearance with this professional orchestra performing the Haydn C Major concerto on the November 30 subscription concert at Sanders Theater in Cambridge.

**Laura I. and Joe L. have been selected by their classmates to participate on the State Student Advisory Council.   They will be working with students from across the state on issues that affect all high school students, and this group has a voice on the State Board of Education.

**Congratulations to the 55 John and Abigail Adams Scholarship Winners and the 69 Stanley Koplik Certificate of Mastery with Distinction Candidates from the MHS Class of 2009! We are proud of your achievement!  These senior students will be recognized at a Senior Assembly to be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008, in the MHS Resource Center following the Senior Parent Breakfast.  For more information please call 781-979-2208.

 


Melrose High School, in conjunction with the College Board, congratulates our four Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars from the Class of 2009.  The four scholars are:

Elliott Calamari

John (Eli) Kaynor

Jocelyn Zajac

 

AP Scholars are recognized as students who completed three or more AP exams with grades of 3 or higher.  The Advanced Placement Program provides motivated and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to possibly earn college credit at participating colleges.  MelroseHigh School currently offers the Advanced Placement option in 13 subjects.

Progress Reports were distributed on Friday, December 12th.  If your student was absent they may pick up their Progress Report on Monday, December 15th.
