Lincoln School Principal's Welcome Message:

2009-2010 School Year

Welcome to the Lincoln Elementary School Website. I hope you will find the Lincoln website to be a great source of information. Please check back often and stay up to date on the latest news at Lincoln. You can also register for Principal's Email Updates which now include the monthly newsletters.

Lincoln is a tremendous place to learn and work. We have outstanding, students, staff, parents and community members. The history and traditions at Lincoln run very deep. I am impressed with the pride in Lincoln that students and families show. It is clear that this is a driving force in the success of Lincoln. The family and community involvement creates a very welcoming and responsive environment.

The staff at Lincoln also embraces the same Lincoln pride. We are very fortunate to have a talented and caring group of teachers and support personnel. The students are challenged daily with a demanding curriculum and supported as they explore new concepts and ideas. A true sign of a great school is one where there is plenty of laughter and smiles. A walk through the halls and classrooms at Lincoln will be all one needs to see that Lincoln is a place where people are happy, learning and engaged.

The 2009-2010 School-year will bring many new initiatives or expanded programs to Lincoln. We are looking forward to the following programs or changes:

·         School Social Worker

·         Geography Competition

·         Flexible Grouping Model

·         Organic Vegetable Garden

·         Expanded Smartboard use

·         Full K-3 implementation of Storytown Literacy program.

·         Addition of 4th Title I Tutor

·         The return of Continental Math League

·         After School Program

I also encourage you to be an active participant in your child's education. Spend some time talking to your child about what they are learning. We have an active volunteer network, the Bridge, for parents to get involved. Our PTO is also a very active group of parents and community members who spearhead many initiatives and programs in the building. When visiting the Lincoln School, please do keep in mind our security procedures and always come into the main office through the main entrance and sign-in as a visitor or volunteer.

If you have specific questions please contact your child's teacher either by phone or email. If you feel a conference would be helpful, just schedule a mutually convenient time to meet with the teacher.

If you should ever need to speak directly with me, please call or see our school secretary. If I am available, I'd be happy to spend some time with you. If I am unavailable you can leave a message or schedule an appointment with our school secretary.  Best wishes to everyone and thank you again for visiting the Lincoln School Website.
