The Library

Library Looking for A Few Good Women (or Men)!

The Hoover School library is managed entirely by volunteers.Running the library is a big job, but you can help us in many small ways.  Many hands make light work!

Volunteers are needed each week to:

  • read to classes

  • check books in and out

  • shelve books

In addition, volunteers are needed for other tasks throughout the year, such as:

  • help with book processing (attaching labels, barcodes, stamping, covering, etc.)

  • putting up seasonal displays and bulletin boards

  • help with keeping the library clean (sanitizing tables, vacuuming the rug, occasional dusting)

  • keeping the shelves organized alphabetically and by Dewey number

Library classes meet for a 1/2 hour per week.  Volunteers may commit to once a month or less often- even a few times a year is a help. Well-behaved younger siblings are always welcome.  All volunteers must be registered with the Bridge.  New volunteers will require a short training to learn how to manage the electronic system. Watch your e-notices for a scheduled training session, or contact one of the library co-coordinators, Karen Fogarty or Sandy Nagle.
