Healthy snacks are the best choices. Suggestions include fruit (fresh or dried), crackers, dried cereals, or yogurt. Remember that snack time is not mealtime, and your child does not need to come in with a variety of foods to snack on at once. Please practice opening packages and container lids with your child at home to make sure he or she can open them independently most of the time.
Note: Some classrooms are nut free, and some children have gluten-free diets. Here is a list from Hoover nurse, Kristen Aiello, that gives you some helpful ideas for snacks and for class parties.
