School Gates locked at 3:00 PM School grounds are closed to cars and trucks after 3:00 PM. Drop-off and Morning Line-up During pleasant weather, which is most school mornings, students are to line up on the playground side of the black fence. Students are not allowed to use the playground equipment or throw balls in the morning. However, students may walk around the track until the teachers come out for morning duty at 8:05 a.m. When teachers come out students should get in their classroom line and be ready to enter the school when the bell rings at 8:10 a.m. The drop-off/pick-up area is located along the grass circle (labeled in blue on the map located on the website) and is only for students who do not need assistance getting out of the car. If your child needs help or you need to be assured that they get to their correct place beside the black fence, then please find a legal parking space and escort your child to the fence. Refer to the map on the website for location of legal parking spaces. The drop-off area is for children to exit the car quickly and for the parent to drive off.  Pull your car all the way up to the top of the drop-off area. Wait for the cars in front of you to pull away so you may also exit the drop-off area. Never back up your car in the drop off area. Never cut into the drop-off line from the left travel lane. Do not allow the student to exit the car unless s/he is in the drop-off area. Pick-up (NO STOPPING IN DROP-OFF ZONE) Students exit the building at the end of the school day through the three doors facing the playground, in the back of the building. Grades K, 1, and 2: Children are released when supervising staff sees the parent (face to face). Because of this, adults picking up students in grades K, 1, and 2 may not use the pick-up area. Grades 3, 4 and 5: Children leave the building at the end of the day.  Adults  may arrange to drive-up to the drop-off/pick-up area (labeled in blue on the map) to meet their children. o    Adults must drive to the grass circle to meet them immediately. During snowy months, students in grades 3, 4 and 5 will wait on the pavement between the grass circle and black fence to be picked up.  This drive-up option is not available until 2:20 p.m.  Prior to 2:20 you must park in designated areas. o    If your child(ren) is not at the circle when you arrive you must move out of the pick-up area and drive around the block (Glendower to Whitman to Echo) and then reenter the pick-up area. You are not allowed to park or leave your car in the pick-up area, even if you stay in your car. You need to leave the pick-up area and drive around the block until your child(ren) is in the circle area. Never back up your car in the pick-up area. Do not allow your child(ren) to enter your car unless s/he is in the designated pick-up area. Please remember that our objective is to get all students to school and home again in a safe manner.
