In Kindergarten, we begin November with a two-month study of celebrations. In social studies, we will be learning about the Pilgrims who came over on the Mayflower, settled in Plimouth Plantation, and suffered a hard winter. We will talk about the friendly Native Americans and how they showed the Pilgrims how to pick berries, plant corn, and live off the land.
We will begin December with a study on celebrations. Light will be the theme; we will compare many holidays and show how they use lights in their celebration. We will discuss most of the holidays happening in December, as well as other holidays around the world that happen at different times throughout the year. We will leave for the winter vacation with a special craft countdown to New Year's Eve!
