Herbert Clark Hoover Elementary School:

A Little About Our History

This page needs your help --
if you have pictures we can scan, of you, the school, classmates,
the neighborhood, we would very much like to borrow them,
or you can scan them and send them to us.

Here's what little we do know...

In 1967, the Hoover School was built.  In that same era, sister schools Franklin and Beebe were built on the same basic architectural plan.  Graduates from that era include some current and former Hoover parents -- many people have stayed in the same neighborhood and there are faculty who have ties to that era as well, both as students and faculty.

Send us your memories!

We would like to feature some memories, stories and pictures on this page.  Several years ago, in conjunction with the Melrose History Day celebration at Memorial Hall, Dawn Surette and Edith Ackerman assembled a display of personal photos and letters from Hoover alumni, along with yearbooks across the decades and borrowed videos of Hoover children in plays and concerts.   It would be very special to recreate and memorialize that history here.  If you are a Hoover alum, or know one, please consider making a contribution that will live on in our archives here.
