Thank you Hoover Community and sponsors who made The First Annual Hoover Golf Classic a smashing success! Your generosity raised $15,675.00, the largest amount from one event in Hoover's history. With your contributions the PTO is able to provide much needed support to the school including:
- quality enrichment programs
- classroom supplies
- capital improvements
- books and materials to enhance the curriculum
- teacher stipends to enchance the classroom experience
We post PTO
agenda, minutes and the treasurer's report promptly each month. If you
cannot attend PTO meetings, please read that information to keep
up-to-date on how your support is making a difference in our
childrens' education.
Please thank and support these families and businesses in the Sponsor Hall of Fame! Want to see all the fun? View pictures

Save Your Shaw's Receipts
Dig out Shaw's cash register receipts dating back to June 1, 2007 along with new receipts and send them into school via your child's backpack in a marked envelope OR put them in the Shaw's envelope next to the PTO mailboxes in the lobby. The Hoover receives money back for every dollar spent. Our coordinator Lisa Isotti just mailed off $66,124.76 in Shaw's receipts that we collected, which means we will be receiving a check back for $621.57! Keep them coming!

| Use a Google Search -- and Earn the Hoover $$$$
Who doesn't do Internet searches everyday? Try this…go to www.good search.com, and at the prompt to select your favorite "charity" select "Hoover School Melrose" from the drop down menu and begin your searches. That's all you have to do! The Hoover will earn money for every search. This innovative program has been reported in the New York Times as the wave of the future—harnessing the power of the Internet for the good of the community.

Cut it out! -- Boxtops for Education
The Hoover School is once again participating in the General Mills Box Tops for Education program. We just sent off the latest batch of 3,650 box tops, and we will be receiving a check in the amount of $365.00! Terrific! The Hoover School receives ten cents for every box top logo that we redeem. In addition, you may log onto www.boxtops4education.com and follow the directions to "sign up now" for additional ways to help Hoover earn point. Put box tops in a marked envelope and send them to school in your child's backpack, or drop them off in the Box Tops for Education collection box located on the PTO shelf in the school lobby. For more information, call Lisa Isotti (665-4971).

Wait! Don’t Throw That Out!
Did you know that over 300 million ink cartridges were thrown away last year alone? Consumers also replaced or threw away 30,000,000 cell phones! Hoover is involved in the FundingFactory Cartridge and Cell Phone Recycling Programs, which are FREE and easy but will not work without your support. Donate your empty printer cartridges and used cell phones to the Hoover School! Through the FundingFactory we earn "points" which are exchanged for consumer goods or cash. The FundingFactory also has a Business Support Program which can allow your business to support Hoover School by providing them with prepaid shipping boxes. For more information about this program, please visit the FundingFactory Web site, or call toll-free, 1-888-883-8237. Donations can be made in the school lobby.

Corporate Connections?
Parents, do you work for a company that could donate snacks, beverages, supplies, or corporate discounts for school events? Does your company have a donation-matching program? Your employer will enjoy a worthy tax deduction while the Hoover School benefits. If you have a connection to make, please call Renee Sousa at 662-2559.
