November 2008 First Grade News
First grade continues to thrive!
The children are reading and writing well as a result of the Harcourt Reading program. The children are responsible learners and enjoy the daily centered activities. This month, the focus is plot and story structure.
Math continues to pique our interest! We are diving into addition practices and facts to ten so that the children can add quickly and correctly. We are still graphing favorite things and every Friday is Estimation Station. We enjoy meeting all our parents during the conference times. Thank you again for all your support, kindness, and donations! Mrs. Forrest and Miss Scally

If you could be a character in a children's book, who would you choose?
|
Hmmm... This is tough. "Chester the Racoon," by Audrey Penn (a series) -- saying goodbye is always hard. When I taught kindergarten, maybe Miss Bindergarten--she was such an energetic teacher (especially for a dog).
