Early Bird and Before/After School Care Programs
The ECC offers an "Early Bird" option for children enrolled in our all day (8:25 - 2:10) programs. This would allow families to drop their child off any time between 7:25 am and 8:25 am to be cared for before school begins by the Franklin ECC staff. No breakfast would be provided however students may bring a nut free snack/breakfast item. The cost of the program is $5/day and registration is required. Our "Before/After School Care" program provides balanced enrichment programming at the end of the school day to students registered in our all day (8:25 - 2:10) Multi-Age and Pre-Kindergarten program. Run by the ECC staff, the program is intended to enhance students' recreational, intellectual, social and physical skills in a supportive environment. We provide a high quality, safe and reliable care during after school hours. A nut free snack and drink is provided and two pick-up options are available each day. Students may attend one to five days a week on a set, monthly schedule. Cost of the program is $20/day until 5:30 and $25/day until 6:00. Registration is required. Important Dates: Pre-Registration for new families Wednesday, February 1st: Registration for incoming families at Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School from 4:00 - 7:00pm. Monday, February 20 - Friday, February 24th: School is closed for the February Break March 15: Tuition Due Friday, April 6th: School closed for Good Friday observance. Monday, April 16th - Friday, April 20th: School is closed for the April break. Monday, May 28th: School closed in observance of Memorial Day. School Closing/Delayed Openings: If there is inclement weather that causes a delayed opening in Melrose, school will open two hours later than the usual start time. In that event there will be no classes that normally meet from 9:00 - 12:00 (Preschool, five day Pre-K or 1/2 day multi-age). All day Multi-Age and four day Pre-K classes will be held. Multi-Age (8:25 - 2:10) classes will start at 10:25 and four day Pre-K classes will start at 11:00. All will end at their regular times. If school is canceled for inclement weather, information is communicated through our Connect-Ed system. It can also be found on the following Radio and TV stations: Radio: WBZ, WRKO, WCVB.
