Honored by The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership

On Tuesday, June 4, The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership hosted the tenth annual volunteer recognition luncheon for the wonderful people who find time in their busy schedules to regularly give time to students and staff of the Melrose Public Schools. These generous people support and augment the education of students in kindergarten through grade 12. One hundred and thirty of the more than 400 hundred dedicated registered volunteers were present to hear the words of thanks offered by Representative Michael Festa, Mayor Robert Dolan, former Superintendent of Schools, Charles Martin, and Coordinator of Volunteers, Emily Rubenstein. Everyone in attendance enjoyed delicious food prepared by Chartwells, the school system's food service.

As part of the festivities twenty-six volunteers were presented with five-year pins and a special presentation was made to a volunteer of more than 30 years.
